Description
In this excursion we will not enter the official El Yunque National Rainforest for sightseeing, but rather visit the less touristy spots and local water fun areas on the outskirts of the Rainforest for a more adventurous experience. This action packed day will start by visiting two natural rock waterslides, one for beginners and another for the adrenaline seekers, swimming in natural water holes and jumping from rocks. Then will head to a serene freshwater natural pool where the more adventurous will be able to jump from a rope swing and others will just float, swim or relax in the river bank. All this surrounded by green lush areas and after first doing a short hike to admire the local plants and trees. End up this perfect day by relaxing at a beautiful popular beach with few waves and calm waters.
What to Expect/Itinerary
Our day will start with an early one-hour drive heading to the northeast coast of PR. During this time, you will learn about the island’s history, geography and culture while cruising through the countryside.
1First visit is a privately owned local spot. The area has beautiful volcanic rock formations to walk around, a small waterfall and a natural swimming hole where you can jump from rocks. The main attractions are two natural rock waterslides, one for beginners and another for the adrenaline seekers, that will make everybody have a great time.
2Once we have enjoyed this amazing place, the second stop is at the rainforest outskirts with its green and lush scenery. We will have a guided short hike through a trail that leads to another river and a serene freshwater natural pool, while admiring the local plants and trees around. Here, the more adventurous will be able to jump from a rope swing and others will just float, swim or relax in the shallow areas of the river.
3After all this action is time to enjoy a lunch break at an authentic nearby restaurant.
4Don’t worry about falling into a food coma…you will have the chance to relax later for about one hour at the beautiful popular Luquillo beach, with few waves and calm waters, before heading back to your hotel.

What to Bring
- Swimsuit already on and 2 towels per person.
- Pair of additional socks is a MUST. It will provide great traction when walking over moss and slippery rocks in the waterslide and works better than any water shoe. Trust your guide in this advice.
- Comfortable clothes: shorts, t-shirts, and swim shorts
- Good shoes to hike and walk over rocks. Could be hiking sandals, but NO FLIP FLOPS. Water shoes for the river.
- Beachwear, flip flops or sandals for the beach.
- Sunscreen, insect repellent, hats and sunglasses
- Cash or credit card to buy food and if you wish to offer a gratuity

- Confirmation will be received at time of booking.
- Not wheelchair accessible.
- Will be operated by a multi-lingual guide (Spanish and English). Tour might be offered bilingual in case needed.
- Children must be three years or older to participate and accompanied by an adult.
- Additional transfer fee from towns outside of San Juan/Metro area will apply (each way).
- Participants should have a medium to high physical fitness level, must be capable of walking thru inclined, rocky, slippery and uneven surfaces without assistance.
- We will have lunch around three to four hours after pick-up. If you have any special dietary restriction, please notify at time of booking and bring your snacks.
- Not recommended for participants with heart complaints, back problems, recent injuries or other serious medical conditions.
- Not recommended for woman past their first trimester or persons with mobility limitations.
- If you have a service animal you have to notify it prior to booking the experience, since other participants in the tour might have asthma or allergies to pets danders.
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
- This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 13 travelers.
